Twilight Spiral Coven is a coven of women practicing the Twilight Tradition of Wicca in La Mirada (near Fullerton) in north Orange County. We are traditional and hierarchal, but also somewhat eclectic in the god that we honor. We were founded in 2004, changing our name after a hive was created in July 2012.
We honor both the God and Goddess, celebrate the wheel of the year and the esbats. We are hierarchal and structured, but definitely not dogmatic. We have an inner and outer court, as well as a congregational group of former priestesses, aspirants and close friends. There are three degrees in our tradition.
Much of the communication about events are online. Currently, we use a Facebook group -it’s ‘secret’ so no one can search or see that one is in it, and anything one posts is private. Having computer access is crucial. Dedicants attend a bi-weekly course of 10+ dedicant classes, as well as our Sabbat and all-coven meetings/workshops. We do celebrate the esbats, but those are for initiates only.
If you are interested in joining us, we ask that you be a mature adult- 21+, be a ciswoman (women born) , free of illegal *chemical* drugs (pot OK, but not at events) , live withing driving distance, are willing to make a commitment, and have some knowledge of Wiccan beliefs, values and traditions- at least 6 months independent study time. Petitions are always accepted, but please make sure to read the bylaws before submitting your petition.
It’s suggested that you do not rely on public transportation while being part of TSC, as punctuality is important to us. We respect eachothers’ time and the dates for all 2014 events are already planned. Also, like it was mentioned before, you’ll need to have internet access. We don’t charge for classes, but we do collect monthly dues which are $5-$20 sliding scale. We use this money, along with our fundraising money for rituals, and other coven needs.
We vend our crafts and other goods at Pagan Pride Day annually, and may be opening up an online shop to further help us fundraise.
If you have questions on why we are women-born-women online, feel free to contact us. We aren’t anti-trans, but our focii right now include things that women-born women (ciswomen) are born into, and as we are a family, we would never want to exclude any of our sisters. If you are a transwoman, and interested in future membership, feel free to petition and note that on your petition- we keep all petitions.
